Clinical Trials
New medications are constantly being developed for HIV/AIDS, antibiotic therapy, and many other areas.. At our Center, we focus primarily on new medications for the treatment of HIV/AIDS. Clinical trials, or studies, allows us to be on the cutting edge of treatment opportunities. Many times we are able to offer our patients medications not yet on the market that can be life-saving. Sometimes we are able to obtain effective therapy in this way for those who would otherwise be unable to get their medications. Our center has a dedicated research team that has an established reputation for a state-of-the-art research program. The research team is comprised of a physician who serves as principal investigator, Barbara H.Wade, M.D.; a physician assistant who serves as subinvestigator, William M. Vaughan; and two nurses or Clinical Research Coordinators, Ann B. Brown, R.N. and Katie Toben, R.N. This focused team makes it possible for us to maintain excellence in our clinical trials, to help answer important questions in HIV/AIDS treatment, and to continue to provide the very latest and most effective drugs available.
